Round one

El PelucaVSLa PorotaCongreso — Sesión de madrugada

Choose your candidate

  • Portrait of El Peluca

    El Peluca

Speed and pressure. Rushes in, never lets up, and if you jump: Zarpazo.

  • Portrait of La Porota

    La Porota

Zoning. La Palabra keeps you out, and El Atril punishes every jump.

  • Portrait of El Gato

    El Gato

Charge and punish. Holds back his Drive and Slice and waits for you to slip.

  • Portrait of Panqueque

    Panqueque

Two stances, Institucional and Campaña. It all comes down to when he switches.

  • Portrait of Pato

    Pato

Heavy advance. Tanks one hit while winding up his own and walks you to the wall.

  • Portrait of El General

    El General

Huge grabs and plenty of health. Slow, but once he hugs you, he won't let go.

  • Portrait of Alverso

    Alverso

Feints, promises and pays out in installments: his hits land after you've forgotten about them.

  • Portrait of El Loco

    El Loco

Short steps and a high-risk grab. Up close, he's big trouble.

The rest are still out campaigning.

Stages

For now, this is where the fights happen. More are under construction.

  • Congreso

    Sesión de madrugada

It's 4:47 a.m. and the session drags on: pigeons, stacks of files and nobody's going home.

  • Plaza de Mayo

    Después del discurso

Everyone's gone home: drizzle, soggy flags and one vendor who won't quit.

Devlog

How the game is coming along, newest first.

  1. ROUND 7

    A CPU that fights better

We had the CPU fight itself in thousands of matches to find out where it was failing. It now lands combos that actually connect, and when it plays El Gato, Alverso or El Loco it doesn't go down so easily anymore.

  2. ROUND 6

    Touch-ups and a new lion

We touched up the portraits of over half the cast. El Peluca's super, Las fuerzas del cielo, gets a brand-new pixel-art lion, and this page now shows all 16 candidates, though some aren't playable yet.

  3. ROUND 5

    Music and announcer

We worked on the game's music, and the announcer now has a voice: an original recording by the team.

  4. ROUND 4

    Three more in the ring

Alverso, El Gato and Pato are now selectable. A new character select with a slot for all 16, and every portrait redrawn.

  5. ROUND 3

    El Loco and the Plaza

El Loco joins the brawl and Plaza de Mayo opens as the second stage, drizzle included. Plus a new sprite engine for the whole cast: more volume, better hands and clothes that actually move.

  6. ROUND 2

    First playable build

El Peluca, La Porota, Panqueque and El General slug it out at Congreso in the dead of night. Versus, Contra la CPU and Entrenamiento modes are in.

  7. ROUND 1

    The session is open

BALOTAJE kicks off: a combat core running at 60 frames per second and pixel art at 480×270. The cast is locked in: 16 candidates.
